About book: Lynn Raye Harris has done it again! She has beautifully written a romantic story about what happens when clinical errors in fertility take part. King Rashid was only doing what was requested of him when he deposited sperm into two sperm banks for the preservation of his line. Sheridan was just doing another generous thing for her older sister. Since Annie couldn't conceive a child, and the procedure to be impregnated herself would cost to much, the family chose to go this route. However the clinic made an error and deposited King Rashids sperm into Sheridan. Being a king, he found out first about the mistake. Sheridan soon found out, but it happened to be on the same day that Rashid took matters into his hands and showed up at her place of business. Being a king, meant that he needed and would have full control of the situation. He may not want to start a family so soon, as he had just recently taken over the crown - whereas he didn't believe he would be receiving the title. His father had played both brothers against one an other, and once the King was dead, Kadir didn't want the crown like his father had so often pushed for and declined. Leaving Rashid to take the crown and rule the people. As you read this wonderful story, you will learn that Rashid has a troubled past along with having a wife who died tragically in childbirth. This helped turn Rashid into a cold, bitter man. Sheridan has spent most of her life always helping her older sister out, staying in the back ground and never standing up for what she wants. Sheridan is wickedly kidnapped till the test results prove she is or isn't pregnant. And while she is being held at the castle in Kyr, she can't stop her attraction that is growing stronger for Rashid, a man she hates for he is harsh and demanding. Though he speaks few words, as he has a country to rule. And having an American pregnant with his heir is not how it's supposed to go. She notices he has a wall up and wont allow anyone in. While they are waiting a week for the results, they slowly walk around their attraction for each other and get to know each other. This story is sure to keep you reading along, as you want to know more. Why is Rashid so cold and unapproachable? Why does Sheridan have to always give up her wants and desires for her sister? Rashid helps Sheridan see that she must come first, especially if she is carrying his heir. As she then will have to marry him and become his Princess consort. And can Rashid find love with an American woman? Can he even open his heart up to love again? I highly recommend you taking a chance on this fabulously written story! It's feisty, humorous and down right sexy! Once you open it, you wont put it down!!! Any good sister knows it is always the right thing to help out your sibling when you are able to and of course when it is just and fair. So our heroine in this book helping out her sister by agreeing to have a baby for her, makes this a number one heroine in my book.But imagine if you had to be the one that does this loving deed for your sister and then the clinic informs you 'Whoops sorry, we made a mistake. And instead you may not be pregnant with your sister's child, you might be expecting the child of a King.' Some woman may think it's not all that bad, the King might be happy and just maybe this can all work out, but of course life is never as plain sailing as that. So when the heroine in this read Sheridan leans of the mishap she is furious, sad and confused and does not know which way to turn.But this is not the worst part at all, nope suddenly the King himself makes an appearance and he is in no mood for games or female what if's. King Rashid will not wait to discover if Sheridan is carrying his heir, instead he kidnaps her and takes her back to his country, only once he has her there he's not so sure what to do with her. I loved this read, it was sweet and kind the one moment and hot and passionate the next and then it dropped to such vivid emotional heartspoken sweetness I broke out in tears. Sheridan was awesome, she stands up for what she wants and does not hold her tongue. Which was so amazing to read about, it's not every woman out there that would dare tell a King his fortune, I mean who dares raise their voice at a King or tell him in nutshell that he sucks , this heroine does ! And it was so awesome , I adored the character of Sheridan more and more each time she stood up to Rashid. I did however feel so bad for her, being in a foreign country, helpless, possibly carrying a child whom you have already fallen in love with, practically being held against your will and not to mention a hotter than the desert sun King wanting to strip you bare and kiss every inch of you, not a easy list of things to handle. But she's areal trooper and rises above it all with stunning elegance! Rashid was cold, distant, angry all the time and just plain mean. I wanted to bury this man in a deep dark whole in the desert sand for being so mean to Sheridan, but as the author let his side of the story play out I could understand him trying to keep a distance and rather ice his heart against all emotions. I very much enjoyed Rashid being knocked from his throne by Sheridan and becoming a greater King than before. The author showed just how much the presence of another can influence our actions.I am taking away a message of life is sometimes more of a roller coaster ride than we asked for, and when the ride stops at an unintended pit-stop it is not the time to be angry or sad, it's the time to stand up and face what ever it is that 's trying to knock you from the ride. There's a reason for everyone that comes into our lives, maybe they have come to save us, or maybe show us that we can love again, what ever the reason may be the point is to stay on the ride of life, hang in there, face it all and in the end you will reach the exact destination you were meant to.I recommend this read for all fans that adore Lynn Raye Harris books, passion laced with an emotional punch and makes for a lovely afternoon read. 4.5 star review' He wants his child no matter what, but can he handle the woman that comes with it?'

Made me want to read Kadir and Emily's story again (linked story, Gambling with the Crown)

I like my heroines virginal and my heroes super alpha. This book had neither.

About book: I received this from NetGalley and Harlequin for an honest review.Working for the prince of Kyr had its ups and downs. As his personal assistant Emily saw him through all kinds of things and through all kinds of women. Like a normal woman she noticed he was attractive but she kept that out of her mind because he was her boss. When Kadir receives a phone call from his father, something changed. Suddenly he was asking her to go home with him. Not as his assistant but as his wife.Kadir was content being a prince, he didn't want to be tied down by being the king. He couldn't build buildings like he does now. When his father calls and tells him he needs him to come home, he knows the only way to get out of being king is to bring home a wife that is unsuitable for the kingdom. His assistant, Emily is that woman. Little did he know that underneath the boring suits and sensible shoes was a bombshell. Now he can't get her out of his head, maybe she's unsuitable for the kingdom but not for him.I really enjoyed this story. Emily has a past that makes her shy away from being the center of attention, so when Kadir suggested that she play his bride she was in it for the money. Kadir convinced himself that she was just another gold digging woman, just there for his money. When they are forced to learn more about each other he realizes she has reasons for wanting the money and for the way she dressed all those years.This book was a nice escape for an afternoon. I think you will enjoy it as well. I can't wait to read Kadir's brothers story next. Check out this book and leave the author some love in the form of a review!! I can't decide how I feel about this romance. I loved Kadir, the hunky Arabian hero who designs and builds skyscrapers for a living. He is a handsome playboy whose assistant is an attractive woman, although they have never thought of each other in romantic terms. When Kadir is summoned home to Kyr upon the final illness of his father the king, he must go and presumably take over the role of king upon the death of his father. Although his brother is older, Rashid is in disfavor, so Kadir must give up his lifestyle and live in Kyr. His plan to disgrace himself in his father's eyes (by taking an unsuitable American wife) backfires when he and Emily (his PA) suddenly become attracted to each other. Emily is an enigma. We are told that she is a private person, but the downside of that is that we don't get to know her very well, so we don't understand her angst about Kadir when she's shown no particular attraction for him at the beginning. I'd rate this 3.5 stars, but I rounded it up to 4 stars because it was a little more interesting than average.
